Description
This is a short terrace of three 2-storey houses forming part of a group at 9-13 High Street, Tremadog. The houses are built of squared quarried stone laid in regular courses, with a slate roof and stone stacks.
No. 9 is a double-fronted house. Rebuilt stone steps lead to the central entrance, which has a replacement glazed door. The windows have been replaced, though they are in the original openings, except for a blind central upper-storey window. A full-height vertical joint between Nos. 9 and 11 indicates that they were built at different times. No. 11 is a narrow, single-fronted house. A replacement slate steps leads to the entrance on the left side, which has a replacement door and overlight. It features a 12-pane horned sash window on the lower storey and a 16-pane hornless sash window on the upper storey. No. 13 is also a double-fronted house. Replacement slate steps lead to the central entrance, which has a replacement half-lit boarded door and overlight. It has 12-pane horned sash windows in the lower storey and 16-pane hornless sashes in the upper storey.
Communal stone steps are located against the left-hand gable end of No. 9. A rubble-stone lean-to with a corrugated iron roof is attached to the rear of No. 9, built into the steep cliff face. The interior retains a 2-unit plan and, in the room on the right-hand side, a fireplace with a large stone lintel.
