Description
Prior's Lodging is a small two-storey cottage with rendered walls and a mono-pitch pantiled roof that faces the square, featuring sprocket eaves. On the left side, there is a 19th-century Gothic stone archway with a Tudor-arched head and a boarded door. The center of the building has a 6-pane vertical window with external shutters. To the right, there is a recessed round-headed loggia that contains a 2-pane window. The upper floor features two small windows, one on the left with 4 panes and one on the right with 6 panes.
The rear elevation, which faces the estuary, has three tall round-headed windows that extend the height of two storeys, with a decorative lunette below and small flanking lights. To the right of this elevation is a segmental tunnel arch leading to the ground floor. Both the rear and west side elevations have parapets that conceal the roof, with the west side featuring a baroque-style volute at the left end. The main entrance is located on the west side, accessed through an applied baroque wooden doorcase topped with a cartouche. To the left of the entrance is a 12-pane sash window with external wooden shutters and a Renaissance-style head-plaque above.
