Description
Wern Lodge is a single-storey and attic building constructed of rubble stonework with a slate roof. It features wide bracketed eaves and a gabled front that is set forward between lean-to side wings. The gabled front is adorned with distinctive wave-pattern bargeboards, a pendant, and a tall finial, with similar details on the lean-to wings. The front includes a circular window with leaded glazing above a patterned-slate lean-to porch that spans the full width of the building; this porch is ornately bracketed and open-fronted. The central door is flanked by diamond-leaded 2-light windows, which are also repeated around the corners. The set-back lean-tos on either side have fishscale slate hoods over shallow bays, featuring similar glazing. There are symmetrical stone chimneys on either side of the central block, both pierced. The interior was not seen at the time of inspection.
