Description
Yr Hen Ysgol is a building constructed of rubble stonework and topped with a slate roof. It has an 'L'-shaped plan that is symmetrical at the front, featuring a central open-fronted porch that is topped with a simple small bellcote. The porch has a stone lintel, and the inner door is studded with decorative hinges. The building includes tall timber cross windows, with frames that have staff mouldings, and gable stacks.
At the rear, there is a wing designed in a similar style, which has a lean-to structure at the gable end, along with a lean-to service building positioned in the angle on the west side. The eastern window has been modified, extended down to create a door with an external ramp.
Inside the front block, the space is divided by a timber screen, and there is an arched opening leading into the rear wing.
