Description
The summerhouse at Wern Manor is an Italianate-style structure made of stone, featuring a fine-grained brown sandstone ashlar front and a hipped slate roof. The front has three semicircular arches with voussoirs, complemented by stylised Doric columns with an egg and dart echinus, which are raised on a scroll-pierced balustrade. It also includes broad end pilaster strips and a dentil cornice. The building is situated on a raised platform and is accessed by three semicircular steps.
Inside, the summerhouse has a plastered and ochre-washed interior with a corniced ceiling. At each end, there are Carrara marble semicircular tables supported by tall Tuscan columns made of the same material. The floor features thin slate laid in a chequerboard pattern.
