Description

Ysgol Llanystumdwy is a school building constructed of rubble stonework and covered by a slate roof. It dates to the 20th century. The school comprises two classrooms arranged end-to-end, running parallel to the road, with a small projecting entrance wing to the front and a two-storey house for the master at the eastern end. The schoolrooms have four metal windows of 1950s design at the front, with rendered surrounds and concrete sills. A transomed window is located in the western gable end. A roof ventilation opening has been blocked. The lower, short entrance wing to the front features framed and boarded doors on either side, and two timber windows to the gable end facing the road. A short gabled wing projects to the rear from the gable end, and incorporates a lean-to structure. The master’s house has two ground floor windows – one a 12-pane sash window and another a wider timber casement. The first floor has three 16-pane sash windows, with further windows on the eastern side.
