Description
The Estate Kennels is a long, thin rectangular building dating from the 19th century, featuring projecting wings at each end. The walls are entirely covered in slate, and the roof is slate as well, hipped to the projecting wings. The central section contains five individual kennels, each with internal accommodation and separate pens. These are divided by cross-walls and low slate-coped brick walls at the front, which are topped by high hooped iron railings. Each kennel has its own entrance, and the rear wall of the internal accommodation includes a door and window for each kennel. The projecting wings have 3-light pivot-hung windows on the outer returns and rocket-shaped metal flues at the ridges. There is an inserted stable door in the front wall of the left wing, and a further iron-railed enclosure is attached to the right wing.
