Description
Cae Mur is a single-storey, two-unit cottage that is joined to farm buildings in a straight line. The cottage is constructed from whitewashed rubble stone and features a slate roof with rendered gable coping. It has end stacks that are rendered, with water tabling at the base and mortared caps that have steeply raking sides. The central facade includes a boarded door flanked by 4-pane horned sash windows, all set beneath stone lintels and thin slate sills. On the rear elevation, there are two small 2-pane sashes and a tiny skylight in the upper roof, indicating the presence of a croglofft.
The adjoining farm building is built in the same style but has a lower roofline. It is made of coursed rubble stone and slate, featuring a boarded door in two halves on the left, a plain boarded door on the right, and another door at the rear, all with stone lintels. The end shed is of a separate construction, also with a lower roofline, made from random rubble, with an inner cob wall visible at the gable and rear. This shed has a boarded door in two halves on the right. Additionally, there is a lean-to pigsty at the gable end, constructed from stone with a slate roof, and next to it is a small enclosure made of stone slabs set on edge, which has an entry on the right leading to a cobbled yard.
