Description
No 1 Tan Bryn is part of a pair of villas, Nos 1 and 2 Tan Bryn, located on Stryd y Bont, Bridge Street. These villas are symmetrically designed as a single composition, standing two storeys high with a four-window range arranged in a 1-2-1 pattern. They feature advanced outer gabled wings that are connected by a timber verandah, which has radial decoration fanning between the bracing struts. The walls are rendered with imitation ashlar scoring on the left side and topped with a roof made of thin slates, which has projecting gable verges and bargeboards. There are three brick stacks, rendered, with one centrally located and one at each end. Each house has an entrance positioned at the angle of the main range and the wing, featuring a four-panelled door that is set in an added porch on the right-hand dwelling. The windows are tall two-light casements with small panes, and those located in the gables have moulded architraves.
