Description
These are a pair of semi-detached villas, part of a group of two. They were constructed of rough-dressed, snecked limestone with yellow sandstone dressings and quoins, featuring battered plinths and plain stringcourses, along with plain stone chimneys topped with slanted capping stones. The buildings have hipped slate roofs with tiled ridges, deep eaves, and verges.
Each villa is L-shaped, with entrances set back from the street and a two-storeyed, semi-octagonal bay projecting from the corner, corbelled out from the plinth. The main entrance is recessed within a central bay, accompanied by an adjacent angled return featuring a ground-floor window. Above this window is a triangular wooden oriel, supported by cusped braces and sheltered by an extension of the roof, with a smaller window above the entrance itself. The windows have plain glazing with tilting casement sections and original four-panel part-glazed doors.
The street-facing elevations are symmetrical, displaying paired windows in the central bays, flanked by turret-like corner bays. The first-floor windows in the central bays rise above the eaves and incorporate higher hipped roofs. The villa situated downhill (Y Bryn) has an additional three-light, flat-roofed dormer window, designed to offer views over the Vale of Clwyd. Both units remain largely unaltered, with the exception of Y Bryn, which has a more modern picture window to the left of the entrance bay.
Each villa has a terraced area in front, with a battered stone retaining wall and railings, and stepped access leading up from the street.
