Description
Dafarn-newydd is a 2-storey farmhouse with a full-height wing at the rear set at right angles, along with single-storey additions on the left (south) end. There is also a single-storey agricultural range, or cowhouse, at the north end. The building is constructed from local rubble masonry, featuring rendered elevations on the front wall and added wings. The roof is covered with small old slates that are grouted, and it has stone copings and rendered gable stacks, with the southern stack being square and squat.
The main elevation faces a walled garden to the front (east) and consists of a 2-window range with a doorway between, where the openings are offset to the right (north). The door is panelled and located within a narrow timber porch. The windows are 4-pane sashes with stone sills, and the first-floor windows are positioned directly under the eaves. The rear wall of the house is unrendered, and the ground floor window features a cambered rubblestone head with a drip course.
The agricultural range is built in a similar style, with rubblestone heads above the doorways. The front (east) has two doorways offset to the right (north), while the rear has a single doorway to the right (south) and a cut and blocked window at the right (south) end.
