Description

Siop Soar is a building that includes the Black Lion Inn and an attached residence. It features a linear design with the public house on the left and a terraced row of cottages, which is now a single house, on the right. The structure is two stories high and is finished with render over rubble, topped with a slate roof that is grouted on the right-hand section. There are end wall and axial stacks that indicate the original divisions of the dwelling.

The cottage row on the right consists of a long range with three windows, where the right-hand bay is slightly set back. Most of the windows are four-pane sashes with shaped, eared, and shouldered architraves, and the first-floor windows are positioned directly under the eaves. The wider window on the left may have been a former shop window. There are doorways located in the left and center, both covered by flat-roofed porches, while the right-hand door is framed by a rendered architrave.
