Description
Ty Newydd is a long range building that includes a two-storey farmhouse on the left side, featuring two roof levels, and an attached agricultural range. The agricultural range consists of a lofted corn barn and stable, a single-storey cowhouse, and an unlofted cartshed. At the rear of the lower part of the farmhouse, there is a gabled wing, possibly a dairy. The roofline of the building gradually steps down from left to right, from the farmhouse to the cartshed. The walls are made of rubble with boulder foundations; the farmhouse is smooth rendered and painted, while the agricultural range has rough rendering. The taller section of the farmhouse has a modern slate roof with concrete gable copings, while the remaining part features old small slates that are grouted.
The farmhouse is divided into two distinct parts, with the taller left-hand unit and an additional two-unit range stepped down to its right. There are gable end stacks on the upper unit and a stack marking the end gable of the lower unit at the junction with the agricultural range. The upper unit has a door in an added porch and a small-paned enlarged modern window in a raking dormer just above the eaves. The left-hand section has a central door in an added porch, with replacement windows in the rear elevation of the upper block. The lower part of the farmhouse includes a single-storey gabled wing with a four-pane sash window in a raking dormer to the left.
The farm range continues the roofline of the house. From left to right, the first part features a corn barn door on the left with an opposed winnowing door on the rear wall. To the right is the stable door, with a window to the left that has an agricultural pattern, including a ventilator in the lower part and fixed panes above. There is a small six-pane window set under the eaves of the loft above the stable, visible from both the front and rear. The single-storey cowhouse, with a lower ridge line, has a central door, and the narrower unlofted cartshed is located at the right gable end. All doors are boarded stable doors, with the cartshed featuring a double door.
In front of the house, there is a low stone wall surrounding a rounded small garden. The interior of the building was not inspected during the survey.
