Description
Braint is a 2-storey farmhouse built in a linear range, featuring a 3-window layout and a 2-unit service wing with servant's quarters on the left (northeast), set slightly back from the main house. To the right (southwest), there is a single-storey lean-to. The building is constructed of rubble masonry, with large quoins and fine stonework, and was formerly limewashed. The right gable return of the house has slate hung cladding, and the roofs are covered with small slates, with the house having a tiled ridge and coping.
The house features slender rectangular gable stacks with dripstones and capping, while each unit of the service wing has a shorter, cruder stack on the left (northeast). The main elevation, which previously faced the road to the northwest, includes a 3-window arrangement with a central doorway that is now blocked. The ground floor has 4-pane sash windows, and the first floor has 12-paned hornless sash windows, all with slate sills. The rear elevation mirrors the front, featuring 4-pane horned sash windows with slate sills and a central boarded door beneath a shallow fanlight.
The first unit of the service wing, immediately to the left of the house, has a single doorway on the right and a small 4-pane horned sash window on the left; there is also a small paned casement set under the eaves on the rear elevation. The second unit, located at the far left of the range, has a central doorway and a small 4-pane loft light positioned directly under the eaves and offset to the left; a similarly detailed light is found on the rear.
The single-storey lean-to is a later addition, featuring a widened opening with a rolled steel joist as a lintel, and a small boarded opening at the rear.
