Description
Ty Mawr is a linear range that includes a central two-storey farmhouse with three windows, flanked by single-storey wings that were formerly outbuildings, and a single-storey wing at the rear. The building is constructed of rubble masonry and is limewashed, topped with a slate roof. The house features rendered rectangular gable stacks with capping. The windows are small-paned casements, with the ground floor windows set under cambered heads. The principal elevation faces north, and the house has a central doorway that leads through a half-glazed timber porch or conservatory. The flanking windows on the ground floor are six-pane lights, while the first-floor windows are four-pane and positioned directly under the eaves.
Attached to the left gable is a single-storey former cowhouse, which is now part of the house, featuring a doorway offset to the left and a window at the extreme right. The right wing was originally a cartshed; its original cambered-headed doorway has been partly blocked to create a wide four-light window. The rear of the building has a scattered arrangement of fenestration, primarily consisting of small-paned casement windows. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
