Description
Clorach-fawr is a linear farmhouse range dating from the early 19th century. It consists of a two-storey, three-window farmhouse, with a two-storey, two-window cottage aligned at the northern end. The principal elevation faces east and is constructed of rubble masonry that has been limewashed. The ground floor features rough stone voussoirs over the openings, and the roof is covered with small slates, complemented by rough stone gable stacks and a ridge stack situated between the two properties.
The farmhouse has a central entrance that is topped by a shallow rectangular fanlight, with flanking 16-pane hornless sash windows. Above, there are tall, 12-pane horizontally sliding sash windows positioned directly under the eaves. The cottage has a boarded door that is offset to the left (south), with a stone to the right inscribed with the date 1826. A plinth approximately 0.5 meters high runs to the right of the doorway, and there is one window on each floor of the cottage; the ground floor features a 16-pane horizontally sliding sash, while the first floor has a 12-pane sash, both set directly under the eaves.
The interior could not be inspected at the time of the survey.
