Description
This is an unusually small single-storey cottage located on the west side of Beach Road. The walls are made of white-painted rubble masonry, and it has a grouted slate roof with stone coping on the left side. There is a stone stack with brick upper courses at the gable end on the right. Above the door, there is a semicircular impression in the grouting, which is thought to be a traditional method for shedding rainwater. The doorway is positioned to the right of centre and features an undersized door made of three boards, with its head located under the eaves. The sill of the door is raised above street level, and there are two steps leading down to it. To the right of the door, there is a single window under the eaves, which is a 6-pane fixed light with a metal frame.
Inside, the cottage consists of one room with a blocked window or cupboard in the centre of the rear wall, as the ground level at the back has been built up. There is a hearth on the right with a stone lintel and an inserted cast iron fireplace. The roof features pegged slates with torching.
