Description
The Former Keepers' and Pilots Houses at Llanddwyn Lighthouse is a row of four traditional, vernacular cottages dating from the 19th century. These single-storey buildings each have a two-room layout, consisting of a heated room and a croglofft above a secondary unheated chamber and pantry. The cottages are finished with roughcast render over stone and feature slate roofs with end-wall and axial stacks. Each cottage has a central doorway within a gabled porch, which are likely late 19th-century additions, and are flanked by 12-pane sash windows with cambered heads. At the northern end of the row, there are two outbuildings, which were probably originally wash-houses, as indicated by the presence of an axial chimney stack.
