Description
216-218 High Street in Linlithgow is a mid-19th century, two-storey and attic, three-bay tenement building featuring a pend and a bakery shop on the ground floor. The structure is constructed of sandstone rubble, which is rendered and lined on the south elevation. It has a base course, a cill course, and painted margins around the doors and windows.
On the south (entrance) elevation, there is an off-centre left shop door with a large shop window to the right. To the outer left, a segmental-arched pend features an iron gate. The first floor has regular fenestration with 12-pane sash and case windows, while the dormer windows have four panes. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes ashlar coped skews, stacks at the gables, and a slate-hung dormer with rounded angles and a piended roof.
