Description

Dated 1854. Symmetrical, 3 storeys, 5 bays, with classical

details; 2-bay addition later 19th century in similar style

to west. Unfortunate modern shop fronts at ground floor;

painted ashlar above. Original building has off-centre pend;

cornice over ground floor and slightly advanced, blind,

central Venetian windows above; all remaining windows 8-pane

sashes in architraves, pedimented, with cill course, to 1st

floor. Cornice and blocking course. Wall-head stacks flank

datestone over central bay. Flat-roofed central, and piended

and canted outer dormers. End stacks and slate roof. Later

wing also has 2 piended and canted dormers. Rear stair

turrets.
