Description

Loch Lomond And Trossachs National Park Planning Authority

This gate to Ardvorlich House is an important part of the overall estate of Ardvorlich - a modest yet formal introduction to the house and incorporating stone urns from the main 18th century house.

Description: square-plan squared rubble gatepiers with ashlar copes incorporating classical stone urns. These urns are understood to have been taken off the corners of the main house, probably during the 1890 works to extend the house. To the E is a low wing wall with ashlar coping. To the W is a small handgate built in to a continuation of the parapets of the nearby bridge (see separate list description).
