Description
The War Memorial on Old Military Road dates from around 1920 and is designed in the style of a mercat cross with an octagonal ashlar shaft topped by a Celtic cross finial. It stands on a prominent base resembling a cairn. On the southeast side, there is a granite slab inscribed with the words "to the Glory of God and in the memory of the men of the parish of Kilmaronock who gave their lives in the war."
Surrounding the memorial is a low circular boundary wall made of rubble, which features a circular rubble coping but has collapsed in some areas.
