Description
The United Free Church Manse in Gartocharn is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay former manse designed in a symmetrical T-plan. At the rear, there are rubble outbuildings that form an approximate U-plan. The exterior is finished with painted harl.
On the main (south) elevation, there is a gabled porch at the center featuring a segmental-arched door with two leafs that are boarded. This is flanked by windows, and there are three windows symmetrically arranged on the first floor. To the outer right, there is a lean-to bay, and to the outer left, a single-storey block with a piend roof.
The windows throughout the building are 12-lying-pane timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes lead flashings, as well as harled and coped ridge stacks.
The property is enclosed by a boundary wall made of rubble with boulder coping, small piers that support cast-iron arrowhead gates, and ashlar gatepiers leading to the lane on the outer right.
