Description
The Bartley Green War Memorial is located in a paved area to the south of the Avenue of Memory. It features a rough-hewn granite Celtic cross with a tall shaft that stands on a tapering plinth. The southern face of the shaft is adorned with a small green-painted wreath, and at its base, there is an inscription in black painted letters that reads: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS DISTRICT WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR, 1914-1919, AND THAT OF 1939-1945." The names of the fallen are inscribed in black lead letters on the southern, western, and eastern faces of the plinth.
