Description
Inverchandlick is a distinctive single-storey cottage built around 1840, featuring three bays and a picturesque design. It has deep bracketed eaves and unusual detailing, with a rear extension. The cottage is prominently located on the north bank of the River Dee and constructed from coursed pink granite. Notable architectural features include hoodmoulds and a half-hipped roof.
The south elevation has a central gabled porch with deep timber bracketed eaves and decorative barge boarding, which includes a timber door and four small round openings linked by a Greek cross at the apex. On either side of the porch are bipartite windows with timber mullions and transoms.
To the east, there is a tripartite window with timber mullions and transoms, set in a low advanced bay topped with a piended roof. The cottage predominantly features timber casement windows, along with some timber sash and case windows. It has two gable polygonal stacks with canted bases and decorative coping. The roof has been partly re-roofed in the early 21st century.
The interior could not be accessed during the resurvey but is believed to have been modernised in 2005.
