Description
Ranger's House and Store, Trapper's House, and Brochdu Farmhouse is a mid-19th century single-storey cottage with a later attic, featuring three bays. It is located on sloping ground above the River Muick. The building is constructed from squared, variegated granite with harl-pointing on the sides and rear.
The west elevation has a central door, with a window in each of the flanking bays. Above the outer bays are canted, slate-hung dormers with piend roofs. The windows are predominantly replacement 4-pane timber sash and case. The roof is covered with graded grey slates and includes a cast-iron rooflight. The stone ridge and coped skews are complemented by end stacks.
