Description

The Rope Bridge at Birkhall, built by Messrs Harpers & Company Patent in Aberdeen around 1885, is a pedestrian suspension bridge that spans approximately 60 feet. It features an iron deck supported by steel wire ropes. The bridge is flanked by panelled octagonal cast-iron gatepiers, each about 7 feet high, which have decorative capitals and ornate ball finials, along with a foundry plate. The entrance is marked by hooped iron gates.
