Description
1 and 2 Jubilee Cottages in Easter Balmoral date from around 1850 and are single-storey, gabled double cottages. They feature harled walls with a granite base course and dressings, along with coursed granite projections at the entrances.
The northeast elevation has four bays, with windows located in the bays to the left. There is a broad advanced bay off-centre that includes a window with plain stone consoles supporting an ashlar cornice, and a blind arrowslit in the gablehead above. A window is also present in the bay to the right.
On the northwest elevation, there are two gabled bays that project to the left and right of a central window. Each of these bays has narrow windows and windows in the gableheads, along with boarded doors on the returns. The outer left side has part of a masking gable.
The cottages feature 4-pane glazing with a pronounced astragal at the centre of the sash and case windows. The roofs are covered with grey slates, and there are granite ashlar ridge stacks that are corniced and linked in pairs on pedestals.
