Description

The Duke of Saxe-Coburg Gotha Memorial Cross is a Celtic Cross memorial dedicated to Alfred Ernest, Duke of Saxe-Coburg Gotha and Duke of Edinburgh, built between 1900 and 1901. It is made of granite and features a base with a battered pedestal that includes an inscription. Above the pedestal, the cross is intricately carved with Celtic guilloche designs. The memorial is located within an enclosure that is surrounded by fine, wrought-iron hoop railings.
