Description

The statue of Prince Albert at Balmoral Castle was created by William Theed and is dated 1867. It is a bronze cast produced by Elkingtons, based on a marble statue by Theed from 1862. The statue depicts Prince Albert standing with one hand resting on a faithful hound and holding a rifle in the other. He is dressed in a kilt with a plaid. The statue is mounted on a rocky granite pedestal, which is inscribed with 'Albert Scot 1867'.
