Description
Craiglourigan Cottage, located in Easter Balmoral, dates from around 1865 and is a single-storey and attic, three-bay cottage. It is constructed from stugged and coursed granite, featuring a base course and polished dressings.
On the northwest elevation, there is a gabled stone porch that projects at the center, which includes a shoulder-arched doorway with stop-chamfered arrises, a panelled door with a blind fanlight, and a gablehead shield. The quoins also have stop-chamfered arrises, and there are arrowslit windows on the returns. Each flanking bay has a window, with a swept-roofed, slate-hung dormer above.
The cottage has raised, battered chimney breasts on the gabled return elevations, with a window to the left of the northeast elevation. There is a later harled extension at the rear.
The windows are 4-pane sash and case style, and the roof is covered with grey slates. The building features ashlar coped skews and gablehead stacks.
