Booking Office, Caledonian Railway Station, Kemp Street, Hamilton

The Booking Office at Caledonian Railway Station in Hamilton, dated 1906, is a single-storey, rectangular-plan building that was formerly used as a booking office. It is situated on sloping ground and is supported by a brick and steel sub-structure that adjoins the lower platform at the rear. The exterior features red brick with pink ashlar dressings, a slate roof, and terracotta ridge tiles, along with a base course, flat-coped skews, and coped end stacks.

The front elevation showcases a large, keystoned, and moulded round-headed entrance doorway at the center, which is fitted with panelled doors. To the left, there is a tripartite window with 8-pane sash and case windows. Above, an ashlar parapet bears the inscription 'CALEDONIAN RAILWAY' in large Roman lettering. To the right, a slightly advanced gable contains a window with the mullion removed and modern glazing, along with a date panel above.

The side gables are blank, while the rear elevation features a covered staircase leading to the platform, which has been bricked up at the retaining wall.
