College Street Railway Station Annex, Guild Street, Aberdeen

The College Street Railway Station Annex in Aberdeen, built in 1909, is a tall single-storey classical building that was originally a booking office. It features a distinctive canted corner and rises to two storeys at the rear, which is currently in commercial use as of 2006. The building is constructed from grey granite and has channelled rustication on the street elevations (east and south) with a contrasting deep polished granite base course. A deep cornice runs above the doors and at the wallhead, and there is a parapet that is balustraded at the corner.

At the corner, there are two large square-headed doorways with moulded keystoned architraves and square panels above. On the rear (east) side, which is level with the lower platform, there are round-arched openings that include a central timber door topped with a large semi-circular fanlight. Some openings have been blocked.

The windows feature plate glass, and the building has a flat roof with a central pyramidal glazed skylight that includes a decorative timber lantern. There are coped wallhead stacks. The interior has been comprehensively modernised in 2006.
