Description
Marna is an earlier 19th-century former lodge that has undergone later alterations and additions. It is a single-storey building with a rectangular plan, featuring five bays, splayed end bays, and a recessed bay on the outer right. To the right and rear, there are modern two-storey piended and lean-to extensions built on a steeply falling ground to the northeast. The exterior is harled with painted blocked cills and includes round-arched windows.
On the southwest, or principal elevation, there is a deep-set replacement timber panelled door located in a slightly advanced, pedimented bay at the centre, with a vestigial block at the apex of the pediment. There is a window in each bay flanking the door, and a blank recessed bay on the outer right.
The side and rear elevations are irregularly fenestrated, with a garage located beneath the extension on the southeast. The building features replacement two-pane uPVC casement windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a swept piended design, while the additions have slate and felt roofing. The rainwater goods are made of cast iron, with some uPVC replacements.
The boundary wall consists of a low sandstone ashlar wall topped with a ridge ashlar cope.
