Convent, St Mary's R.C. Church, 68 St Vincent Place, Lanark

The building is the Convent of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, located at 68 St Vincent Place in Lanark. It dates from the mid-19th century and features later additions. The structure consists of irregularly planned domestic buildings, with a small chapel extending to the south from the east range. The exterior is rendered, with ashlar margins and dressings. The residential buildings are two storeys high. The east wing has four bays, including one gabled bay with an off-centre gabled porch, and a taller two-storey bay to the south that connects to a two-cell chapel. The chapel has lancet windows, with a triplet in the south window. The south elevation is recessed and includes a two-storey canted bay that is gabled and topped with a finial. The roof is covered with slate.
