Description

The gatepiers at Marr College, designed by John Arthur around 1919, consist of four square-plan piers that flank the vehicular and pedestrian entrance. They are made of coursed sandstone ashlar and feature raised plinths with stepped panels centered on their facets. The inner piers have "MC" embossed on them, and the square-plan caps are adorned with key-pattern banding. The gates are currently missing, as are the sinuous dwarf linking walls.
