113 Commercial Street, Lerwick

113 Commercial Street in Lerwick is a tenement building dating from the earlier to mid 19th century. It has three storeys and an attic, featuring a two-bay gable facing the street and flanking closes. The shopfront is made of droved ashlar and painted, while the walls are harled elsewhere. There is a base course and a band course above the shopfront, with projecting cills at the windows.

The northeast elevation, which faces Commercial Street, is nearly symmetrical. It has a margined fixed-light shop window on the ground floor in the left bay and a two-leaf flush panelled door in the right bay. The first and second floors have regular fenestration with 12-lying-pane timber sash and case windows, and a segmental-arched 8-lying-pane timber sash and case window is centered in the gablehead at the attic.

On the northwest elevation, which faces Hangcliff Lane, there is a margined 2-pane fixed-light shop window in the shopfront that returns to the left, with "HANGCLIFF LANE" incised in the band course above. The left side above ground is blank, and there is a modern forestair leading to a part-glazed door, flanked by a 12-pane timber sash and case window and another sash and case window above to the right. A modern glazed link extends to the right, connecting to a neighboring office.

The southeast elevation, facing Pirate Lane, has irregular fenestration grouped at the center, with infilled openings on the left side. The roof is covered with grey slate and features skew copes on the northeast gable, along with a large harled and coped wallhead stack on the southeast elevation.
