Description
The Market Cross on Commercial Street in Lerwick is a squat, tapering column made of ashlar stone. It has a square ashlar base set on a concrete plinth. The column supports a corniced square cap and a stepped base for an inter-war cast-iron lamp standard that features open work. On the northeast side, there is a recess with a glazed timber door that contains a barometer.
