Description
High Mill, also known as Botany Mill, is a former mill built in the mid to late 19th century. It is a four-storey building with a rectangular plan, measuring six bays by two bays, and features a canted end bay at the south corner. The exterior has regular fenestration and is constructed from whin and sandstone rubble, with red sandstone dressings. The roof is purple slated in an M shape with a valley gutter. There are entrances on the northwest elevation, and a modern communications tower is located at the north corner.
The windows include multi-pane timber sash and case as well as fixed glazing. Inside, the space is largely subdivided, supported by a structure of cast iron columns and timber beams, and includes a timber stair.
