Description
The Roxburgh Street Block is a mid to late 19th-century engineering works that includes two mill-related buildings connected by a modern link.
The Roxburgh Street Block is a single-storey, 8-bay rectangular building with a piend roof, constructed from whin rubble with sandstone dressings. The front has regular window openings, although many have been bricked up. The rear elevation is not visible.
The Botany Lane Block is a 2-storey building with an attic, featuring an 8 by 3-bay rectangular plan. It is made of whin and sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings. The square-headed gable conceals a triple pitched roof that has two valley gutters, and the skews are made of ashlar. The windows are a mix of timber fixed-pane and casement styles.
Inside, both blocks retain cast iron and timber structures.
