Description

Mid 19th century. Substantial, rectangular-plan walled garden situated approximately 700 metres NW of Thirlestane Castle within the Thirlestane Castle Estate. Predominantly squared and snecked rubble walls with rounded rubble coping. Swept corners, chamfered at S elevation. Squared, coped entrance piers beside NW angle. Some red sandstone ashlar dressings to secondary openings. Run of single-storey lean-to garden stores of squared and snecked whinstone rubble with red ashlar dressings adjoins outside wall to N.
