Description
The Walled Garden at Thirlestane Castle Estate is a substantial, rectangular-plan structure built in the mid-19th century. It is located approximately 700 metres northwest of Thirlestane Castle. The garden features predominantly squared and snecked rubble walls topped with rounded rubble coping. The corners are swept and chamfered at the south elevation. There are squared, coped entrance piers at the northwest angle. Additionally, a run of single-storey lean-to garden stores made of squared and snecked whinstone rubble with red sandstone ashlar dressings is attached to the outside wall to the north.
