Description
Earlier to mid 19th century. 2-storey 7-bay terrace of 3 cottages. Harled principal (W) elevation apart from No 2, which is rendered and inscribed to imitate ashlar; otherwise whinstone rubble/coursed whinstone rubble with ashlar dressings. Architraved surrounds to openings; windows of No 2 have projecting cills.
PRINCIPAL (W) ELEVATION: No 2 is double-fronted; entrance to right of centre with panelled timber door with glazed upper panels; flanking windows to each floor and one above. Droved margin to left of elevation. Nos 1 Loan View and 63 West High Street have entrances respectively to left and right; No 1 has panelled timber door with glazed upper panels; No 63 has plain timber door with glazed panel; single window to opposite side to each floor and one above.
S ELEVATION: coursed rubble with original main entrance (with plain timber door) to No 63 West High Street to left and large shop display window to right; single window centred above. Adjoins 61 West High Street to right.
N ELEVATION: blank gable end.
E ELEVATION: blank.
4 and 12-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof. Rubble ridge stack with band course to each cottage, including gablehead stack to No 1; round cans.
INTERIORS: not inspected (1998).
