Description
59 West High Street in Lauder is a late 18th or early 19th century, two-storey, double-fronted end of terrace house that has undergone some alterations. The exterior is harled and cement rendered, featuring droved ashlar dressings on the principal south elevation. This elevation includes architraved openings with projecting sills for the windows.
On the south elevation, there is a central entrance with a four-panel timber door, flanked by windows on each floor and one additional window above. The east elevation is also cement rendered and has a single small window on the left side of the first floor. The west elevation adjoins No 61 West High Street.
The house has four-pane timber sash and case windows and a grey slate roof, which includes two rooflights on the principal south elevation. The gable ends are finished in yellow brick with ridge stacks that have band courses and round cans. The interior has not been inspected since 1998.
