West Lodge, Kerfield, Innerleithen Road, Peebles

West Lodge, located on Innerleithen Road in Peebles, is a single-storey L-plan gabled lodge built in the mid 19th century, featuring Mannerist details. The structure is constructed from squared and snecked whinstone rubble and has overhanging eaves with exposed rafters and piended gableheads. Notable architectural features include distinctive alternating small projecting blocks, voussoirs, and cornices around the windows.

The west elevation, which is the principal facade, has a projecting gabled bay on the left with single windows, and a central doorway flanked by a window on the right. The north elevation is gabled and features single windows. The south elevation mirrors the north with single windows and includes a single-storey projection on the outer right that has a blind doorway. The east elevation has a single-storey projection that is partly harled.

The interior was not seen during the 1994 inspection. The lodge has a slate roof with short stacks that have octagonal cans. It features lattice windows in sliding timber sashes, with some being blind and others having been replaced. The property is complemented by square gatepiers and iron railings to the north.
