Description

Viewfield is a single-storey and attic house built in 1878, featuring three bays. The structure is made of whinstone with long and short cream sandstone dressings, showcasing stop-chamfered arrises and overhanging eaves with exposed rafters.

On the east elevation facing Rosetta Road, there is a stone porch with a cross-braced and bracketed gable at the center, leading to a two-leaf panelled door topped with a rectangular fanlight made of plate glass. To the left, there is a bipartite window, and to the right, a canted window with a piended roof and bracketed timber eaves. The house also has a pair of large canted timber dormers, each with bracketed eaves and piended roofs.

The south elevation facing St Andrew's Road features a gable on the right with a window to the left at ground level, along with a framed shield dated 1878 in the gablehead. Another window is located to the left. Set back to the left is a single-storey utility range that includes a door and window, with a modern sun lounge attached to the south.

The west elevation at the rear has a pair of gables, each with windows in the gableheads, and the utility range projects at ground level to the left.

The north elevation is blank, with a gable to the left. The windows throughout the house are timber sash and case, with 4- and 8-pane configurations, and the canted window features plate glass. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped whinstone stacks with sandstone dressings, some of which retain original cans.

The boundary walls are low rubble walls topped with saddleback ashlar coping.
