5 St Andrew's Place, Peebles

5 St Andrew's Place in Peebles is a single-storey and attic L-plan house built around 1885. It features whinstone construction with cream sandstone dressings. The building has stop-chamfered arrises and overhanging eaves with exposed rafters. The central entrance consists of a 2-leaf panelled door topped by a plate glass letterbox fanlight, and is sheltered by a bracketed and cross-braced gabled timber canopy with a finial. To the left of the door is a window, while to the right is a canted window with a bracketed piended roof. The house has a pair of canted timber dormers with bracketed dentilled pediments and a small cast-iron skylight at the centre.

The gable ends are blank, and there is a modern brick garage with a metal door attached to the right. At the rear, there is a projecting single-storey bay to the right with a cat-slide roof and a swept dormer at the centre. The windows are timber sash and case with four panes. The roof is covered with grey slates, and the chimney stacks are coped with sandstone dressings and have octagonal cans.
