Hay Lodge Stables, St Andrew's Road, Peebles

Hay Lodge Stables, located on St Andrew's Road in Peebles, is a late 18th century building that has undergone significant alterations. It features a rectangular plan with seven bays, originally serving as stables. The exterior is harled, with a broad gabled bay at the center that has boarded barn doors set under a depressed arch. This gable also includes a pair of blind oculi and an arched flight-hole, with pedestals at both the apex and eaves.

To the left of the central bay, there are three modern garage doors separated by narrow windows, with a blind oculus above the center bay. To the right, there are a large pair and a smaller pair of boarded cart doors, with an oculus above the center. Set back to the left is a single-storey range that contains a pair of windows and a door.

The rear elevation features a pair of openings leading to the hay loft, and the building has a piended roof covered with grey slates. The central gable has ashlar coped skews. The interior has been gutted.

Additionally, there is a curved rubble boundary wall with saddleback ashlar coping that partly encloses the court.
