Description

GATEPIERS AND GATES AT W END OF OLD TOWN: Burgh Surveyors Office, circa 1930. Rusticated cream sandstone ashlar square gatepiers with fluted frieze, cornice and large ball finials. Wrought-iron gates.

BOUNDARY WALLS: coursed bull-faced sandstone low walls with saddleback ashlar coping flank gates. Rubble boundary wall to road with boulder coping.

ICE HOUSE: rubble whinstone. Built into S facing slope on N bank of River Tweed; droved ashlar dwarf doorcase (1 jamb arris roll-moulded) to E gives on to small vaulted room.
