1 St Andrew's Place, Peebles

1 St Andrew's Place in Peebles is a semi-detached house built around 1885. It is a single storey with an attic and features an L-shaped plan. The house is constructed from whinstone with cream sandstone dressings. Notable architectural details include stop-chamfered arrises and overhanging eaves with exposed rafters.

The central entrance has a two-leaf panelled door topped by a plate glass letterbox fanlight, and is sheltered by a bracketed and cross-braced gabled timber canopy with a finial. On either side of the door are flanking windows. The house also has a pair of canted timber dormers, each with bracketed dentilled pediments, and a small cast-iron skylight at the center. The gable end is blank, while the rear features a projecting single storey bay to the right with a cat-slide roof and a swept dormer at the center.

The windows are timber sash and case with four panes. The roof is covered with grey slates, and the chimney stacks are coped with sandstone dressings and topped with octagonal cans.
