Description
The walled orchard and stone shed date from the early 19th century. The orchard has a roughly rectangular plan with curved walls at the northern corners and features three Classical gateways with heavy architraves, each containing four-panel timber doors that connect to formal estate walks. The walls are made of squared ashlar and random rubble, topped with semi-circular ashlar copes on the western, southern, and eastern sides, while the higher northern wall has flat copes. At the southern access point, there are square ashlar gatepiers with moulded pyramidal cushion caps.
The stone shed is a single-storey, three-bay structure located at the southwest corner of the orchard. It has large double doors and two windows on the left side, with a single boarded door at the rear linking it to the orchard. The shed is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble with droved quoins and timber lintels above the openings. The right window features a fixed diamond-pane light, while the left has a pair of multi-paned casements with a timber mullion. The roof is pitched and covered with slate.
